EWIS will be recognizing our 6th grade students’ transition to middle school and celebrate their accomplishments on Thursday, May 23, at 9:00 am in the EWIS gym. Please park in the area between EWIS and H.O. Whitehurst. Additional parking will be available in the teacher lot. Thank you, Mrs. Young

A GOAT Announcement of the District Teachers of the Year! Congratulations to Brandi Simmons, our elementary/intermediate teacher of the year, and Wendy Roberts, our secondary teacher of the year. We are truly fortunate to have them as part of our school family.

As long as there is no significant weather conditions tonight, Groesbeck ISD will open as normal tomorrow, Friday, May 3, 2024. *Note that some bus riders may be contacted to work out an alternative pick-up location as needed due to road erosion. -Please drive safely.

The 6th grade Math STAAR Test and all make up STAAR tests for EWIS students will be given on FRIDAY, MAY 3 due to the delayed start for GISD tomorrow (Thursday, May 2). Principal Young

Introducing your 2024-25 GMS Cheerleaders/Mascots!

Anyone trying out for middle school cheer or mascot should report to middle school tomorrow morning in the library by 9:30 AM.

For those trying out for GMS Cheer: Cheer clinic will be moved up to 5 until 7:15 tomorrow night due to having to cancel today. Mock tryouts will now be Thursday at three 3:45 until 5.

ALL after school activities for ALL campuses TODAY, Tuesday, Apr 9, 2024 have been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience but hope everyone travels safely.

Attendance Matters!

Please help us congratulate Mrs. Brandi Simmons for receiving the EWIS Teacher of the Year Award! Mrs. Simmons has a true passion for helping students, parents, and fellow teachers. We are lucky to have her on our team!

REMINDER: Monday, April 8th, is a Student Holiday (No School). GISD students will receive a pair of solar lenses to take home. An informational sheet will be given as well. Please be safe during this solar eclipse.

Superintendent Food Council tasting round 4...What an amazing experience. We are all excited to see how our menu will change here at GISD next year!

Some memebers of the Superintendent Food Council are visiting Athens ISD. We are sampling food items from different districts who use 3rd party providers who may be bidding on our FSMC contract.

Thank you for everybody who came out to support Parent University. Great pizza and great fellowship. There are so many great ways for parents to be involved, including PTO, AG boosters, athletic boosters, band boosters, and more.
